Default candlelight dinner

Where's the best place in Austin for an intimate candelight
dinner? A sense of privacy is important and the establishment shouldn't
care if diners linger a bit over their meal. The menu should include
fish and/or non meat items. Price isn't important but the place shouldn't
be so pricey that she thinks I'm trying to to impress her by spending
money (she's a simple ranch girl from East Texas).

Boy, a guy asks a simple question and you yahoos drag him over the

Now, to answer a question directly for a change--take your date to
Trattoria Lisina, adjacent to Mandolo Vineyard near Driftwood.
Atmosphere out the yanger, beautiful grounds for strolling, and wine
to take home when you're done. A place that is built for amore. Go,
my children. You can thank me later.

Have you found a place/gone on the date, yet? Seems like there are
various places around town that would work well, but it depends a lot on
what you define as creating a "sense of privacy" -- separate room,
dividers, table in a far corner...

Places I might try, were I in your Birkenstocks, in no particular order:
Romeo's, Sagra, Gumbo's (ask for a booth), Manuel's.

Best of luck,
