Please help identify the main verb and helping verb or verbs in this sentence.

the main verb is finish and the helping verb is could

The Main is finish and the helping is Could

think of it like this

You cant really use the word could without adding another verb to it

jane could...
play, sing, dance, laugh, talk, listen...
ect.

"could finish" is a verb phrase ("could" is the helping verb)

"never" is an adverb
