I bought this roast, but I don't know if it's pork or beef, how dumb is that. All it says is Boston Butt. It looks like beef but I'm not sure, could it be a pork roast?

It is a pork roast. You can roast it in a roasting pan, fat side up, sealed with heavy duty aluminum foil in a slow oven, 300 - 325 degrees for about 2 - 3 hours and it will be very tender. You will also have a pan full of grease! Pork roasts are loaded with fat which is also the reason they are so tender and flavorful.

Another good way to cook them is smoked on the grill over indirect heat.

Once you have decided how you want to prepare your pork roast, you can use leftovers for pulled pork sandwiches -- yum.

Boston butt is a pork roast.

This roast can be cooked on stove top and or in oven. But remember, it needs a long time for cooking to get it tender

350 oven

S & P, add the roast, some bay leaves, parsley, throw some carrots, onions, garlic and celery in the pan.

Add 1 cup of water, and I add a splash of Worcester sauce.

Cover and cook for about 3-4 hours.
