Jennie's Spaghetti Sauce:

1 cup finely chopped onion
6 - 7 large cloves of garlic
5 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
2 6-oz. cans tomato paste
2 tsps. sugar
1 ˝ tsps. salt
1 ˝ tsps. pepper
3 tbsp. Italian seasoning
2 - tsps - Garlic powder
2 – 2 ˝ cups water
˝ stick butter or margarine

Sauté onion and garlic in butter or margarine, on low flame. When onion and garlic are transparent, add the rest of ingredients, and stir well. Bring to a boil. After reaching boil, cook on low simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently.

Mary Moms Meatballs:

4 - bread slices, moistened in ˝ cup water or milk
Crackers - crumbled (about half a sleeve 15?) use them just for texture
2 eggs
1 lb. Ground meat
˝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons snipped parsley
1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. - pepper
1 1/2 tbsp. - Italian Seasoning
2 tsp - Garlic powder

Soak bread in ˝ cup water or milk for 2-3 minutes. Add 2 eggs and crackers, mix well. Add to ground meat. Add Parmesan, parsley, salt, Italian seasoning, Garlic powder and salt & pepper. Mix well and form into small balls. Brown slowly in shallow oil. Add to spaghetti sauce.

I don't cook the meatballs all the way. Just as they are about to be done I remove them from pan let them rest on paper towels to catch any grease. Then I add them to the sauce to finish cooking with the sauce. Really makes the difference!

I hope you try these recipes! If not hope your dinners great.

Just make any recipe you like and load it up with garlic. That's what I do. I love garlic and if a recipe calls for one clove I usually add several.

I usually make EVERYTHING from scratch but when it comes to spaghetti sauce I use Prego extra chunky and add a pound of spicey sausage links (de-cased) and cut and rolled into "meatballs" to the sauce to cook. I add 1/4 cup of sugar, a generous amount of garlic, an onion chopped or diced and a sprinkle of white pepper.
It's deeeeeeeeeelicious.

or, you can just make regular old spaguetti with meatballs and have a garlicky bread on the side.

/2 lb spaghetti or other Italian pasta
4 cloves garlic, minced or chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
1/8 cup butter or margarine
1/8 cup olive oil
grated parmesan cheese
Directions
1To cook spaghetti sauce, in a heavy skillet or cast iron frying pan, slowly heat the olive oil and butter, add garlic, onion and saute until dark golden.
2Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in a large pot of slow to medium boiling water until tender.
3Drain, do not rinse.
4Pour sauce hot over cooked spaghetti, toss lightly to coat and top with parmesan cheese.
5Serve with french bread and extra Parmasan cheese at the table.
6This recipe will cover about 1/2 pound of spaghetti or other Italian pasta.
7For a variation, sprinkle with fresh-dried basil before serving.
