Default Can I make a milkshake with only ice cream and no milk?

I ran out of milk, dont want to go to store now. Is there a way to just use ice cream and blend it to make a shake?

Yes, in fact, some places call this a "mid-west milkshake." The key is to having a high speed blender the breaks down the ice crystals of the ice cream to make is more fluid. You typically break down the ice cream to make it fluid and then add in syrups or fruit for the flavor you want.

If you like milk shakes like this, you may want to buy a home milk shake blender since you usually need a blender spinner with a good amount of depth to it. Your typically blender has a blade that is to shallow to break down the ice crystals right.

However, Oster has a great "Oster 6670 Milkshake Blade" that can fit in an Oster blender with changeable blades.

You need SOME liquid in there ... liquid Coffeemate, or juice, or even water. But, you'll burn out the motor in the your blender without liquid
