Does anyone have a French bread recipe for garlic bread???

I have been trying for years to make homemade garlic bread. I love buying the French (or Italian) bread from the HyVee bakery and adding my own garlic butter then baking it in the oven. Every time I make my own French bread it does not turn out even close. It always tastes like white bread with garlic butter on it. I have tried SEVERAL "good" recipes and none have the bakery taste. Does anyone have a recipe for French bread that they have successfully made into good garlic bread?

cut up your bread (obviously...)

if you have a garlic press you should use that to mash up the garlic. or you can just use garlic powder if you want)

mix your garlic with butter

spread that butter/garlic on your bread slices

put it in the broiler check it like every 1-2 minutes until golden brown

bam! simple as that you have tastey garlic bread!
