Default Fig jam

What, pray tell, is cherry plum jam? Does it have cherries and plums in
it or do you use something like cherry jello to get the cherry flavor. I
have done that with fig jam frequently, using either cherry or
raspberry jello to flavor the figs differently.

That sounds like the generally used fig jam recipe. Sometimes I just cut
lemon or lime slices, deseed, and add at least two lemons or limes to
the mix without extra lemon juice. If you use only lemon juice be sure
it is bottled lemon juice, that is the only way short of having a pH
meter to ensure you get a standard acidity with the lemon juice.

George, who puts up fifteen to twenty pints of fig jam per annum.

Okay, I recognize it now, had seen some bearing fruit in Europe once and
thought it was just a cherry tree. Pretty neat tree and fruit.
