Default Opened tins in the fridge

Can opened tins be kept in the fridge safely for a day? I'm thinking of
cat food.

thanks, NT

Yes. You can even buy plastic lids that snap onto a standard 1 pound
can or a flat (like tuna) can. I use them for refried beans because I
usually only use half a can at a time.

BTW, your typing is quite good for a cat.

Best regards,
Bob

Just make sure they're covered. Otherwise the food dries out a bit and your
feline may not eat it.

Of course, the cat may not eat it anyway. I've given up trying to
understand the kitty mind. I mean, they'll lick their own butts, and
sometimes the butt of another cat. Once I had to chase one away from eating
what another had just thrown up. But they turn up their little noses at
perfectly good low-fat cat treats.

Ours definitely prefer the fresh-opened can, but will eat it after
refrigeration. We split one 6-ounce can among all three cats over two days.
Why, you may ask, do you even bother with the canned food since they get so
little? Because Jimmy Morrison has heart disease and gets his tuna-flavored
atenolol mixed in with his morning meal. Why not give them just canned food
and forego the dry stuff? Because the dry is cheaper and Jimmy will usually
eat all his canned food and then move on (if we let him, we try to stop him,
but we're not always around) to the girls' dishes and eat whatever is left,
which is usually most of it. Since he already weighs in excess of 17
pounds, it's best to keep the canned stuff to a minimum.

Anny
