Default Thank you!!

About a month ago, I posted about my cloudy strawberry jelly and my plans to
make raspberry jelly. Barb and Bob among others gave me some great advice.

Well, the jelly came really good -- crystal clear and right tasty, if a bit
sweet for my palate. Good enough that it took second place at my county
fair. Since this was only the second batch of jelly I ever made, I'm really
pleased.

My salsa took a third -- a surprise there because even though it was really
tasty, the color wasn't so great. Next time I'll use red dried peppers
instead of all black ones.

Nothing for my jam, but I'm not surprised -- not one of my better efforts.

So I've got a couple of pretty ribbons and a small check to show for my
efforts. (They could forego the check if they like -- it's the ribbons and
the bragging rights they confer that I want.) What I didn't get that I was
hoping for was some sort of scorecard that showed what the judge thought.
Do the rest of you get judges' comments at your fairs?

Anny

As well you should be! Oh, did I say "Congratulations!!"? Good on
you, Girl.

Taste is always worth more points that looks.

Stand tall, Woman!

I get a scoresheet back. Sometimes it has comments on it; more often it
does not. More than a thousand canning entries to judge, and not much
time in which to do it, the judges usually only write if they've a high
compliment to bestow, or if there's something really wrong.

Nice going!
