Default What chemical reactions occur when baking a cake ?(please answer in symbols...

...and explanations) thank you? i have a science chemistry project grade 9 and i cant find any chemical reactions that take place when baking a cake in symbols and cant understand any explanations so please answer as quick as u can my project is due in 2 days.

Hi i just finished researching a project based on baking cupcakes. one of the key chemical reactions when baking a cake ocurs in baking soda because when it is dissolvedin water and then heated during baking. the bs then releases carbon dioxide which forms buubles of co2 in the cake whcih gives it most of its supporting structure. go to this site for more info: http;//nzic.org.nz/ChemProcesses/food/6D.pdf its all about the chemistry of baking
