Default pulled pork bbq recipe?

i have my pulled pork all ready. i just need to add the bbq sauce. i made it in a slow cooker. should i add the bbq sauce and cook it in the slow cooker a little bit longer (how much bbq sauce. someone before suggested to add a whole 16oz) or should i just add the bbq sauce in the end. this is my 1st time making pulled pork so this is basically trial and error but i want to impress my husband because he is so sketchy about me making pulled pork lol.
also some people suggested adding a 1/2 an onion and the bbq sauce to the pulled pork and letting it cook in the slow cooker for 2 hrs on high)

i just want to see what all you pulled pork professionals suggest. thank you.

i am using sweet baby ray's bbq sauce.
i cooked 3.5lbs of pork butt. it cooked for 10 hours already the meat is so soft

It depends on what flavour you want to end up with. If you want the pork infused with the BBQ sauce then cook it in the sauce. If you want the flavours of the pork and the sauce to be true to their real flavours then add the sauce at the end. In this way the flavours compliment each other whereas by cooking in the sauce the flavours become more integrated. It's a personal choice based on your preferred outcome. If it is about impressing your husband what has he preferred in the past? Meats cooked in sauces or sauces added at the end? Remembering his previous preferences will probably make the decision easy.

Greetings,

You should add the sauce before you cook the pulled pork. For a medium sized pork shoulder add about 2 cups of BBQ sauce.
