Default Good 'cue at the Fair

We spent the day at the Arizona State Fair. For years they've had a
permanent log cabin type buildling with a good pit behind it. They seem to
consistently turn out good brisket, butt, and turkey legs. The meat is
always tender, moist, and has just the right amount of smoke.

Around noon I had a pulled pork sandwich with a roasted ear of corn. Around
6:00 p.m. I had a brisket platter with great coleslaw and hand cut fries.
Both meats were delicious.

I've never tried a leg because I really hate turkey, no matter how it's
cooked. :-)

There are a few decent barbecue joints around the Phoenix area, but I always
look forward to this spot at the fair.

I would too. Consistently good Turkey - that is worth tasting, discussing,
and making notes.

Sorry, Lee, but that would be the very last thing on my agenda. In fact, it
would never even be on my agenda. :-) I absolutely loathe turkey. OTOH, I
like or love every other type of poultry I've ever tasted.

Properly aged and cooked pheasant is wonderful. I agree with Wayne about
turkey. It's my second least favorite bird, after seagull. If you haven't
tried seagull, don't!!!

I must admit being poor can definitely open one to eating things that
otherwise would not be considered, but like you, there are a few things that
make hunger a bit more tolerable.
